Japanese Care eSports Association, an organization specializing in video game tournaments for senior citizens, began during the Covid-19 lockdowns to challenge "assumptions about aging."

92-year-old Hisako Sakai certainly did that!

BEHOLD:

Note how she has mastered the button-mashing technique.

Oddly enough, it's the exact technique my wife uses any time my son talks her into playing a fighting game with him.

It always works for her too.

The organization just held its 12th bi-annual tournament featuring this fighting game, Tekken 8. Here's what spokesman Shinpei Hama had to say:

β€˜Some of the participants are living with dementia, but many really enjoyed the game,' said Hama in an interview with Game Spark. β€˜As they chose characters, they seemed to get more attached to them. Some players practiced with passion, saying they wanted to win at least once. They had about a month to practice before the event, and a few of them stayed up late into the night, playing about 60 games.'

Anyone else excited for the Halo tournaments when the millennials hit 90??
