This is absolutely wild.
A commie PhD student instructor at Washington State University was just arrested for allegedly beating up a minority Trump-supporting student because he was triggered by his red hat.
And yes, there's surveillance footage:
This PhD student, who was also a lecturer at the university, just straight up hated the Trump supporter Jay Sani, who he'd interacted with before on campus. He saw Sani on the street, while he was apparently in a bar, and decided to "punch a Nazi" or some such nonsense.
When police found Mahoney and his buddy Gerald Hoff who helped to gang up on Sani, they admitted to the incident but downplayed it.
He wanted to fight, he f***ing got what's coming to him.
Mahoney must not have realized that it was all on video.
Video surveillance reportedly captured the assault as it happened. According to the officer, Mahoney admitted to grabbing Sani's hat and said, "You know, you're f***ing wearing that hat, you wanted someone to f***ing look at it, right?"
"I asked Mahoney what happened tonight. Mahoney said that he saw ‘ol' boy' walking around. Mahoney did not name Sani by name but said ‘I've seen this guy, f***ing, on campus before. I know he's like f***ing Right Wing dude. He's got a f***ing, like, Make America Great Again hat,'" said the officer.
The guy who wore a hammer and sickle on his lapel for his faculty photo ...
... thinks that a guy wearing a MAGA hat is "triggering" and worthy of assault.
(We really need to make the hammer and sickle as toxic as the swastika.)
According to the Daily Evergreen, Mahoney is a WSU instructor and a PhD student in the School of Politics, Philosophy and Public Affairs. He was suspended and removed from all classes he previously taught.
Charlie Kirk is coming to Pullman to speak at Wazzu on Thursday night. I hope that Jay is able to make it.
