Wanna bet how much of this ends up in the hands of the Taliban?
You really can't make it up at this point.
Judge Amir Ali, a Biden-era appointee, excoriated Trump administration attorneys during a lengthy hearing on Tuesday over its failure to pay the groups for work they conducted prior to President Trump's Jan. 20 executive order, which froze all foreign aid for 90 days. Ali also signed an order to enforce a temporary restraining order he signed on Feb. 13, ruling the groups must be paid by 11:59 p.m. Wednesday.
So American tax dollars must be spent on leftwing causes in foreign nations.
The Swamp is more evil than ever, folks.
Lawyers with the Department of Justice acknowledged that the Trump administration ignored the temporary restraining order, which prohibited them from freezing foreign aid funds since the order was issued. Instead, they argued that they should not be required to pay back the money because of 'sovereign immunity.'
Remember how Biden ignored the Supreme Court when they ruled multiple times that he couldn't forgive student loans?
A shrewd man might note that Biden faced zero consequences and continued defunding the foreign NGOs as planned.
I wonder why Judge Ali is personally upset that the bureaucracy-to-NGO laundering scheme for leftwing causes is under attack by the Trump admin.
Judge Ali is a dual American-Canadian citizen and was born in Canada. His parents are from Egypt. Leftist media celebrated that he was the first Muslim Arab to serve as a DC judge.
A sane person might ask why the judicial branch has any say in what the executive branch does with executive spending. Leftists spent decades ignoring the Constitution by giving the president vast bureaucratic powers and now they are upset that the new president is tearing the whole thing down.
If the payments to these NGOs were not expressly authorized by Congress, then what exactly is the case here?
But that's not all on today's decisions from activist judges. Another judge ordered that Trump can't defund NGOs because the poor NGOs [checks notes] wouldn't have enough money to survive without US tax dollars. 🤔
Judge Loren AliKhan from the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia ruled in favor of a group of nonprofit organizations in finding that they are likely to succeed in their challenge to the pause on all federal grants, loans and other federal assistance programs. The judge found that the nonprofits proved that the 'funding freeze would be economically catastrophic — and in some circumstances, fatal — to their members' and agreed to grant their request for a preliminary injunction while the case plays out.
Oh no! The parasitic organisms won't survive without public money? How sad!
16 organizations, including The Heritage Foundation, The American Association of Christian Schools, the Christian Legal Society, the Faith & Freedom Coalition, and the Lutheran Center for Religious Liberty all opposed AliKhan's appointment in 2023 because of her anti-religious freedom record that ignores the basic, God-given rights enshrined in the First Amendment.
But I guess she cares more about NGO schemes than the Constitution.
Expect all of this to be appealed as the judicial chess game continues.
I'll leave you with yet another activist judge's decision (they're coming faster than we can report them) 👇
Guys, I think it's time we drain the Swamp even harder.
