On Wednesday, an African migrant was detained by Londoners after he was allegedly caught entering a woman's home in Canary Wharf, one of London's premiere financial districts.
The suspect is apparently staying at the nearby Britannia Hotel on the taxpayer's dime.
Here is the testimony of the two men who apprehended the suspect:
The men testified that the elderly woman, who is also black, was only saved from the invasion because her daughter happened to be there and chased the man out.
The suspect was seen wandering around the area and at least one other burglary attempt was reported that day.
Despite being restrained by concerned citizens, police said they couldn't arrest the man because it was only trespassing.
[Warning: Language]
Trespassing is not an arrestable offense, sir.
This female officer also said they had no lawful reason to arrest him.
I know that's not something you want to hear.
Canary Wharf is one of the wealthiest financial districts in all of the United Kingdom. Apartments in the neighborhood average more than £600,000.
The Metropolitan Police implied the man was being followed and simply entered an "open door." It then noted that several protesters had been arrested for violating a police order regarding unlawful assembly.
Here is video of the police arresting the 57-year-old British protester who was upset about the trespassing incident:
The Britannia Hotel is a regular site of anti-immigration protests due to the large number of migrants housed there.
