Rumors had been swirling that someone was preparing to drop a "bombshell" about President Trump and Jeffrey Epstein, and Thursday evening, we got … this?
According to the "huge" scoop from the Wall Street Journal, Trump sent a letter to Epstein wishing him a happy 50th birthday in 2003. The supposed letter, which reportedly included a drawing of a naked woman, was part of a leather-bound book of "bawdy" letters compiled for Epstein by Ghislaine Maxwell.
The letter bearing Trump's name, which was reviewed by the Journal, is bawdy — like others in the album. It contains several lines of typewritten text framed by the outline of a naked woman, which appears to be hand-drawn with a heavy marker. A pair of small arcs denotes the woman's breasts, and the future president's signature is a squiggly 'Donald' below her waist, mimicking pubic hair.
The letter goes on to include a bizarre third-person dialogue Trump supposedly wrote between himself and Epstein:
Aside from the fact that nobody writes our fake conversations between themselves and someone else in their letters … nobody believes for a second that this sounds like Trump.
Even Elon Musk, who has been at odds with Trump in recent months, didn't buy it.
Vice President JD Vance chimed in with his own salty take on the "bombshell":
White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt also posted a scalding response to the story on X:
Trump immediately took to Truth Social to deny the authenticity of the letter and threaten to sue the Wall Street Journal:
The president doubled down later in the evening, making his intent to take legal action abundantly clear:
So, what began as a day the Wall Street Journal may have thought they would remember forever instead turned into …
… a day they might end up remembering forever. In a bad way.
