Yeah, so...
On Wednesday afternoon, 29-year-old Rahmanullah Lakanwal was named as the suspect who ambushed two National Guardsmen just blocks from the White House.
Officials say Lakanwal shot 20-year-old Sarah Beckstrom in the chest with a revolver chambered in .357 before shooting her in the head, then shot 24-year-old Andrew Wolfe as he tried to respond.
Neither West Virginia National Guardsman was armed with a gun at the time of the attack. A third Guardsman who was armed managed to down the suspect, who survived and was transported to a hospital.
Lakanwal entered the U.S. in 2021 during the catastrophic withdrawal from Afghanistan led by former President Joe Biden. He was placed in the state of Washington along with his wife and kids.
As many as 60,000 Afghanis were flown to America by the U.S. government during the withdrawal. Former DHS Sec. Alejandro Mayorkas was grilled about the vetting process at that time.
Lakanwal apparently served as a sergeant within the Afghan Army in a unit that was backed by the CIA.
On Thursday, current CIA Director John Ratcliffe had this to say:
In the wake of the disastrous Biden Withdrawal from Afghanistan, the Biden Administration justified bringing the alleged shooter to the United States in September 2021 due to his prior work with the U.S. Government, including CIA, as a member of a partner force in Kandahar, which ended shortly following the chaotic evacuation.
This individual — and so many others — should have never been allowed to come here. Our citizens and service members deserve far better than to endure the ongoing fallout from the Biden Administration's catastrophic failures. God bless our brave troops.
Lakanwal's ID card began circulating on Thursday, showing his association with the U.S. Special Forces (SOF) outpost in Kandahar called "Fire Base GECKO" that was taken from Mullah Mohammed Omar.
The Afghan military was often used for support on missions with tier 1 operators (like Delta Force or the SEALs), and such special missions units were often run in conjunction with the CIA.
NBC News interviewed a "close relative" of Lakanwal's who confirmed his work with the U.S. military as a member of the Afghan army.
The relative who spoke with NBC News served with Lakanwal, supporting U.S. troops.
'We were the ones that were targeted by the Taliban in Afghanistan,' he said.
'I cannot believe it that he might do this,' the relative added.

'I don't know what happened,' the relative said, his voice cracking with emotion. He added: 'I need your help to know why this happened.'
Former CIA analyst Sarah Adams, who authored the "Benghazi Committee Report" and has been warning about Islamic attacks on U.S. soil due to lax border policies, has more details on the specifics of Lakanwal's background and training:
I won't show you the photo of Lakanwal's half-brother draped in an ISIS flag after being "martyred," but it shows the reality of operations in Afghanistan, where families were often separated on opposite sides of the conflict.
Adams notes that after the fall of Kabul in 2021, jihadis targeted CIA-backed groups like Lakanwal's unit, trying to recruit them in order to gain access to the inside knowledge they had gathered as assets working alongside the U.S, military.
Jihadis also impersonated such units, producing fake ID cards to allow them to slip through security screenings during the U.S.-led evacuation. While Adams says she has confirm ed Lakanwals ID and service is authentic, she questions how many Islamic terrorists slipped through the cracks and are hiding in neighborhoods near you.
Adams concludes with this:
We cannot keep waiting for Americans to be killed again and again before we act against the Islamist terrorists who have arrived on our soil since 2021. This can no longer fall on the shoulders of a small handful of people sounding the alarm. Every American needs to be engaged: protecting their families, their communities, and our homeland. Please prepare today!
Seems like good advice, considering what the government has done by importing a gazillion people who hate America with little to no vetting.
