During a lake day with her son's baseball team in Texas, JackO'Lynn Page noticed that her antique diamond wedding ring had slipped off her finger and sunk to the bottom of the Possum Kingdom Lake reservoir.
(As a sidenote, Possum Kingdom is the most terrifying location name I've ever heard.)
The whole baseball team, along with parents and grandparents, joined in on the search, but to no avail.
Because of the 1910 ring's sentimental value, Page's husband decided to call in backup, contacting Blue Diver Search and Recovery, who sent a diver, Ryan Prigmore, out to scour the lake.
Even the professional diver wasn't able to find the ring after hours of searching, due to high winds and rough waters, but determined to see the job through, he promised to come back and continue the search on Monday.
Prigmore told Fox4News,
I was getting thrashed by the waves, but I gave my word that I would be back to keep trying.
The diver kept his promise, and after searching for several more hours on the following Monday, he finally found the diamond ring.
Page shared on her Facebook page,
I am so thankful for him! He didn't give up on it. I had been preparing myself for the last few days that it was lost and I wouldn't see it again. My ring is so special to me. And I had no idea how I'd get over this. I'm am over the moon knowing it's coming home to me!!
After seeing the size of that rock, I'm less surprised Prigmore was able to find it, but still, congrats on a job well done.
