First permanent facial recognition cameras going up in London

Londoners, it's time to get out those burkas, because you got your first permanent facial recognition cameras going up in south London.

Croydon is set to see the city's, and the rest of the democratic world's, first permanent live facial recognition (LFR) placed to scan faces and match them to a criminal database.

They will sit attached to lampposts or buildings on pedestrianised streets ...

Welp...

There is currently no law against face coverings in England, but with a little effort on behalf of all Britons, I bet y'all could make it happen.

Sorry, but if you put up facial recognition cameras I'm just gonna cover my face. It's the obvious choice.

The possibilities are endless, and these cameras, while they're still up 😉, are not going to catch much once Londoners start to throw on these disguises.
