It's finally safe to return to work in DeKalb County in the Atlanta metropolitan area!

DeKalb County announced Wednesday that it is ending its COVID-19 state of emergency and that all employees will need to return to the office, with some hybrid work allowed.
CEO Lorraine Cochran-Johnson signed an executive order that confirmed the end of the emergency and outlined the county's post-emergency work plan.
'This executive order marks an important step forward for DeKalb County," CEO Lorraine Cochran-Johnson said. "It confirms the end of the emergency period while putting in place a work plan that balances flexibility with responsibility and ensures we continue to deliver reliable, high-quality services to our residents.'
It is December of the Year Of Our Lord 2025 and DeKalb County leaders think an "important step forward" is telling county employees that they have to return part-time to the office??
DeKalb/Atlanta residents are satisfied with that level of "reliable, high-quality services"? 💀
As one commenter put it, this is like the Japanese soldiers who were still fighting WW2 on remote islands in the 1960s.
The entire world has been done with Covid for years, and most of us returned to work around May 2020, but Atlanta-area bureaucrats are just now getting back to normal life!
As of Jan. 5, all county offices under the CEO's supervision will be staffed during regular business hours, a news release said.
'In-person service matters,' Cochran-Johnson said. 'Having staff present in our offices strengthens accountability, collaboration, and efficiency across county government and improves the experience for the people we serve.'
How has DeKalb County not fired these bozos yet?? They've just paid county leadership to have empty offices for FIVE YEARS?
