Nothing like finding out on a random Friday that your favorite cooler might accidentally chop your hand off if you aren't careful.
You may remember this story from February:
Well, apparently the problem was bigger than they thought:
Igloo just expanded a voluntary recall of more than a million coolers because there's a slight risk of "amputation" or crushing with the product.
Yes. Amputation.
The CPSC originally issued a recall notice for approximately 1,060,000 Igloo 90 Qt. Flip & Tow Rolling Coolers back on Feb. 13, stating at the time that 'the tow handle can pinch consumers' fingertips against the cooler, posing fingertip amputation and crushing hazards.' The agency issued a recall expansion notice on May 8 for the additional Igloo 90 Qt. Flip & Tow Rolling Coolers, citing similar hazards.
Coolers made from 2019 to 2024 are affected by the recall. Igloo will simply send you a replacement handle if you ask.
Unless you'd rather risk losing fingers the next time you're leaving the ball field.
