Absolutely astonishing if true.
India Today, the country's largest magazine publication, is claiming that Ramesh there survived the crash on Thursday morning that killed the rest of the 242 passengers, plus the crew, plus the unknown number of victims who were killed when the jet plunged into the nearby BJ Medical College and Hospital.
Ahmedabad Police Commissioner GS Malik said that one passenger survived in the Air India plane crash, news agency ANI reported.
'The police found one survivor in seat 11A. One survivor has been found in the hospital and is under treatment. Cannot say anything about the number of deaths yet. The death toll may increase as the flight crashed in a residential area,' Malik said.
According Aerolopa, an online repository of airplane seating plans, seat 11A on Air India's Boeing 787-8 Dreamliners is located in the first row of the Economy class cabin. The window seat is located on the aircraft's right and is two rows ahead of the plane's wings.

Accounts vary on how Ramesh survived a plane crash involving a fully-loaded Boeing 787 Dreamliner with 100+ tons of fuel.
Some say he jumped out of an emergency exit.
The problem with that is that Ramesh would have had to identify that the plane was having an issue, unbuckle himself, run to an exit, and jump out (onto an unbelievably soft surface, of course) ... all in less than a minute following takeoff.

The more likely scenario is that he crashed and somehow survived. Some accounts report Ramesh said this:
30 seconds after takeoff there was a loud noise and then the plane crashed. It all happened so quickly. When I got up there were bodies all around me.
The front half of the plane (where Ramesh was seated) is atomized and/or charred. A hundred tons of jet fuel ignited all around him.
The only bodies visible were burnt beyond recognition.
If this isn't some wild stunt for attention, I'd really like to know how he survived!
