This seems like an interesting move, considering our site can't "misgender" someone on Mark Zuckerberg's websites without being banned.
Yes, Mark Zuckerberg, who we know is seeking an "active role" in Trump's tech policies, has paid a tribute of sorts amounting to $1 million to the inauguration fund for the 47th president.
The Silicon Valley company did not provide details of why it made the donation, but the move came just weeks after Mr. Zuckerberg met with Mr. Trump at Mar-a-Lago. During that meeting last month, the two men exchanged pleasantries and Mr. Zuckerberg congratulated Mr. Trump on winning the presidency. Mr. Zuckerberg also had a meal with Marco Rubio, Mr. Trump's pick for Secretary of State, according to a person who saw the meeting happen.
A Meta spokesman said at the time that Mr. Zuckerberg was 'grateful for the invitation to join President Trump for dinner.'
Trump right now:
There's no limit on donations to inaugural funds, so it is common for business interests to write huge checks to incoming administrations as a way of purchasing a seat at the table. However, as noted above, Zuck didn't make a similar donation to Trump in 2017, nor did he to Biden in 2021.
Of course, some conservatives are very suspicious of the man who banned the Hunter Biden laptop story, and donated $450 million to help "secure" the 2020 election.
Zuck is playing the game!
