Seems like Mike Pence is pretty proud of himself for this one:
We all know the story: Mike Pence certified the election (literally just did his job) while a bunch of neckbeards prepared to enter the Capitol, some chanting, "Hang Mike Pence."

These neckbeards would eventually enter the Capitol, though they never hanged Mike Pence or even attempted to.
Trump had urged Pence not to certify the election, but he did it anyways, and that is why Pence received this award.
Former ambassador and daughter to JFK, Caroline Kennedy, had this to say in presenting the award:
Vice President Pence put his life career and that of his family on the line to execute his constitutional responsibilities. His actions preserved the fundamental democratic principle of free and fair elections and we are proud to honor him.
I certainly agree that he put his career on the line. See his 2024 presidential run for more details on that one.
Here's Pence's acceptance speech:
Dude certified an election which gave an essentially dead man power over the nation, and whether or not you think that was the right thing to do, what really speaks volumes is the fact that he is out here accepting fancy awards for it four years later.
Food for thought.
