ANOTHER ONE: Oxford study says sex-change surgery increases risk of mental health issues

Despite the science turning swiftly away from their crazy ideas, the the wokies still cling to the idea that we must trans the kids.

A new study from the Oxford Journal of Sexual Medicine adds to the growing compendium of research that shows such claims are cultish and unscientific.

From the study:

Aim

To evaluate mental health outcomes in transgender individuals with gender dysphoria who have undergone gender-affirming surgery, stratified by gender and time since surgery.

Results

From 107 583 patients, matched cohorts demonstrated that those undergoing surgery were at significantly higher risk for depression, anxiety, suicidal ideation, and substance use disorders than those without surgery. Males with surgery showed a higher prevalence of depression (25.4% vs. 11.5%, RR 2.203, P < 0.0001) and anxiety (12.8% vs. 2.6%, RR 4.882, P < 0.0001). Females exhibited similar trends, with elevated depression (22.9% vs. 14.6%, RR 1.563, P < 0.0001) and anxiety (10.5% vs. 7.1%, RR 1.478, P < 0.0001). Feminizing individuals demonstrated particularly high risk for depression (RR 1.783, P = 0.0298) and substance use disorders (RR 1.284, P < 0.0001).

So you're telling me that when a mentally unstable person believes that they're the opposite sex, and then you affirm their mental disorder by mutilating them and giving them fake genitals that don't work … this makes them more mentally unstable?

We now have studies that show:

  1. Suicide rates increase among minors after states allow them access to puberty blockers (AKA chemical castration).

  2. Males who take cross-sex hormones like estrogen increase their risk of heart disease by 93%.

  3. 95% of women in their 20s taking cross-sex hormones like testosterone develop "pelvic floor dysfunction" (bladder and bowel issues) that are normally seen in postmenopausal women.

  4. Suicide rates among men doubled after a vaginoplasty, where a surgeon removes the testes and penis and carves a fake vagina into the man's pelvis.

  5. Puberty blockers do not help the mental health of children.

  6. Suicide risk increases 12 times for those receiving "gender-affirming" operations.

As a result, many countries like the UK are banning transgender operations on minors.

Back to this new study:

For men getting their bits removed, that translates to mental health declines for 25.4% with surgery vs. 11.5% without. For women getting bits added, it's 22.9% vs. 14.6%.

And this study didn't rely on surveys to determine mental states like many pro-transgender studies do; these researchers looked only at the medical record:

By leveraging ICD-10 codes, we provide a more accurate representation of patient demographics and clinical outcomes, minimizing recall and reporting biases that often limit survey-based research.

Of course, the researchers would never get published if they weren't pro-transgender, so this is their conclusion:

Gender-affirming surgery, while beneficial in affirming gender identity, is associated with increased risk of mental health issues, underscoring the need for ongoing, gender-sensitive mental health support for transgender individuals post-surgery.

Mental health support was the reason for the transgender surgery in the first place!
