If the West is to survive, an outcome that seems increasingly unlikely with each passing day, it will require us to escape the emotionally induced intellectual paralysis that currently binds us. At least long enough to overcome our childish understanding of tolerance - a buzz word wielded effectively by the enemies of a people so drunk on their freedoms that they have no concept of what it takes to preserve them.
Namely, we must achieve a public awareness that there is nothing virtuous about the toleration of toxic, dangerous ideologies seeking to dominate and subdue, rather than peacefully coexist.
You are not virtuous to embrace those who want to destroy you.
You are fatally naïve at best, arrogantly ignorant at worst.
For proof of that obvious truth, take just a minute of your time to watch this jaw-dropping juxtaposition between the warnings of the late Christopher Hitchens and the current realities occurring in Britain.
Of course, Britain isn't the only place where this is happening. On America's Independence Day just last week, the embassy of France tweeted a celebratory affirmation of our two country's commitment to human liberty.
Just three days later in their national elections, this occurred, revealing their population's painful lack of commitment to that cause.
Declaring that "France has fallen" may seem premature or even melodramatic. But its people have catastrophically followed the prophetic formula novelist Michel Houellebecq outlined in his 2015 book, Submission. Ironically published the same day as the Islamist attack on the satirical French magazine, Charlie Hebdo, Houellebecq warned the French people of their foolish embrace of an ideology poised to conquer and subdue them from the inside out.
In the name of tolerance, they have clearly acquiesced.
So what about us? Are we destined to follow in their disastrous footsteps, foolishly believing we will meet a separate and more favorable fate?
Sadly, it appears that will be the case.
Take the time to fully process what that messaging reflects. Don't let it be lost on you that the same political movement ostensibly warning against a misogynistic, theocratic rule are the same folks currently wrapping themselves in keffiyehs, blocking streets, and waving flags on behalf of a misogynistic, theocratic blood cult that is anything but subdued or coy about their fascistic intentions.
That type of blindness is indicative of an unserious people, oblivious to the grave threats against their way of life festering in and among them. No, we may not become Britain or France tomorrow, but the same progressive mindset that led them to the doorstep of dystopian disaster is beckoning.
