If you've worked in the fast-food world, you know that there are lazy people out there who refuse to do even the most basic work.
But this takes the cake:
The St. Clair County State's Attorney's Office charged Kathy Bledsoe, 44, with aggravated unlawful use of a weapon and Tynika McKinzie, 35, with aggravated battery and mob action for their alleged involvement in the shooting, according to a Belleville Police Department news release. Belleville, Illinois, is a city of about 40,000 people located in the southern part of the state.
The teenage employee refused to do their job and was sent home by the manager. Later on, mom showed up at the Golden Arches and got into a pretty serious argument with the manager.
The employee contacted her mother, McKinzie, who responded to the store with another young girl. After causing a verbal disturbance in the McDonald's, McKinzie and the girl went behind the restaurant's front counter and to the office area, the news release continued.
Once in the office, McKinzie allegedly 'battered' Bledsoe in the face and head. During the altercation, Bledsoe produced a handgun and shot McKinzie once in the leg, officials said.
Mom allegedly started beating up the manager in the office and that's when the manager took out a gun and shot mom in the leg.
'It is unfortunate that this incident occurred. It seems individuals are quick to resort to violence to resolve disputes without consideration of the impact their actions have on the community as a whole. This was an unnecessary incident that could have been mitigated without punches being thrown or a gun being used,' the Belleville Police Department wrote in a Facebook post.
Yeah. Or you could raise a decent kid and not get in fistfights with your kid's boss.
That seems to be the best way to avoid being shot in the office of your local McDonald's.
Bledsoe's preliminary hearing is scheduled for Aug. 1, according to court documents.
'Ms. Bledsoe acted purely in self-defense after sustaining physical injuries at the hands of her attackers. She is now safe at home with her family where she belongs and denounces the violent acts that led to this incident,' Patrick Sullivan, Bledsoe's attorney, told USA TODAY in a statement.
Did the McDonald's manager do anything wrong?
