You don't have enough appreciation for what officers deal with on a daily basis. You think you do, but you don't.
[Warning: Violence, but no blood]
The officer in the video, Aiden Vangelov, was stabbed in the shoulder and arm, but is expected to be okay. Here's a picture from the body cam of his fellow officer, Matthew Lobuglio:
Surprisingly, 26-year-old Rayquell Grant is expected to recover as well, despite being shot for his violent stupidity. Other officers on scene immediately gave him lifesaving care (full video here), though one kept his duty pistol trained on Rayquell in case the guy decided to get all stabby stabby again.
Multiple white officers rendering aid to a black man who just tried to kill one of them?
More evidence of sYsteMic rAciSm, huh?
According to WIVB in Buffalo, Raywell has been charged with attempted murder.
Rayquell M. Grant, 26, was charged Friday with first-degree attempted murder, first-degree attempted assault, and second-degree assault following the incident with officers on Saturday.
Officials said that Amherst Police responded to a 911 call for a domestic violence-related incident on the 4800 block of North Bailey Avenue around 5 p.m.
It is alleged that Grant jumped from a rear window and ran toward one of the officers, stabbing him with two large knives.
"Alleged" 😂
The injured officer, Aidan Vangelov, and another responding officer, Lt. Matthew Lobuglio, allegedly opened fire on Grant, resulting in injuries to the defendant.
In the past few years, police bodycams have dispelled the narrative that black Americans are being unfairly targeted. Instead, they show officers often using an enormous amount of restraint (consider that Officer Lobuglio tried to stop the perp with his taser even after the perp had used lethal force).
There was the Georgetown basketball player:
The Michigan "father," "advocate" and "force in his community" who tried to kill an officer after a prolonged highway chase:
And the schizophrenic Florida man who tried to kill an officer:
As it turns out, some people are just crazy and violent, no matter the color of their skin.
But without these bodycams, there's a good chance the race hustlers would be raising money on their deaths, claiming these shoots were examples of police brutality and white supremacy.
So as hard as it is to watch these videos, I'm glad police have them now.
Like I said, you don't appreciate what they go through nearly enough.
