So, uhh, for good reason the FDA is taking extra caution here:

I mean, this could be the next great Avengers movie!

U.S. Customs and Border Protection alerted the FDA about possible Cesium-137, or Cs-137, detected in shipping containers at four U.S. ports, the FDA said Tuesday in a press release. Testing on frozen shrimp from the distributor, Indonesia's BMS Foods, also tested positive, the FDA said.

However, no shrimp that has tested positive for Cesium-137 has entered the U.S. food supply, according to the FDA.

The FDA is still recommending a recall on all products from BMS Foods that were shipped after the company's shipping containers tested positive for Cesium-137, even though the products themselves have not tested positive.

Here's the Great Value shrimp products CBP says should be avoided:

More:

The level of Cs-137 detected in the detained shipment was approximately 68 Bq/kg, which is below FDA's Derived Intervention Level for Cs-137 of 1200 Bq/kg. At this level, the product would not pose an acute hazard to consumers ...

The primary health effect of concern following longer term, repeated low dose exposure (e.g., through consumption of contaminated food or water over time) is an elevated risk of cancer, resulting from damage to DNA within living cells of the body.

So if you don't want to be the next great superhero (joke), the FDA is asking you to please not eat radioactive shrimp (though it looks like none actually made it into the country).
