It finally happened.
Last week, the Left finally got what it's been salivating for since Trump took office back in March: an illegal immigrant died during an ICE raid.
They've been building to it for months. Every left-wing news story has breathlessly pushed the warning of "one of these people are going to die soon if Trump doesn't get ICE under control." They've been waiting for it, needing it, dying for their 2025 George Floyd so they have a reason to go all out, to not just protest but to burn it all to the ground one more time.
This week a man who was in the country illegally died after jumping to his death off a three-story building during an ICE raid in Camarillo, California. It's tragic and sad; the loss of human life always is. The Left would have preferred he was shot in the back by an ICE agent while he was running away, that would help the narrative, but it won't matter. This will be the inflection point, the rallying cry. Someone in my Instagram feed already posted "I can't believe what ICE did to this poor farmer in California, the ba******!".
Left-wing politicians are already posting the story on their X feeds, somberly describing the incident and placing the blame squarely at the feet of the ICE agents who conducted the raid. The Media has supported them with headlines like this:
All of this ignores the fact that a Mexican who was in the country illegally was apparently so scared of federal officers catching him for his trespassing that he fell to his death after climbing a greenhouse, even though the officers were not chasing him at the time.
But here's the real kicker: As the Left and the Media work overtime to make sure this story becomes the immigrant martyr narrative they've been wishing for so badly for so long, the truth is that they don't care about illegal immigrants.
Not at all.
They care about illegal immigrants as a narrative, but not as a people. They don't befriend them, or learn their languages, or invite them into their homes, or learn their stories, or know their histories. It's just the same rehashed performative outrage that has hobbled any credibility the Left may have had.
The majority of pearl-clutching liberals in my social media feed know nothing about the lives of real illegal immigrants. They will protest in the streets and call me and my family fascists for supporting deportations and they'll post the most moronic, one-sided virtue-signaling slop on their social media feeds but they, in turn, know nothing.
If you want more proof, consider that the Left dropped the issue of this man's death like a hot potato once it was revealed that federal agents rescued 14 child workers from the pot farm (most of them alone without parents or guardians), as well as convicted rapists, kidnappers, and thieves.

Not a good look!
Because the story was no longer useful to the narrative, the Left abandoned it ... and the illegals they claim to care about.
I speak Spanish. I've lived in predominately illegal immigrant communities. There are many, many good, amazing people who come to the U.S. illegally who are, really and truly, looking for a better life for their families. And my heart breaks for them.
There are also cartels, and coyotes, and sex offenders, and murderers, and incredibly violent individuals who also come here illegally. I voted for these people to be removed from the U.S. The process was never going to be clean and sterile. It can't be. It's a giant mess. Biden opened the borders for four years and created a trauma to our country that will be felt for generations.
He created not only problems for Americans, but for the people who came here hoping for a better life. They have to go back now, and that's a tragedy because the United States is the greatest nation on the earth.
But we have to have a process. And as sad as these ICE raids sometimes are, the fault lies squarely at the feet of the Democrats who let in millions of undocumented immigrants and then have tried to appropriate them into a half-way society where they have few legal rights and are exploited for cheap labor.
The Left doesn't care that a man died. They care that they have cannon fodder against Trump. They're hoping many, many more die in these raids.
