The DoD temporarily removed photos from their websites with the word "gay" in the caption and the media had a field day with it

Okay, so let me explain to you what's REALLY happening at the Department of Defense and then you can be the judge of how fair the media is being.

Hegseth ordered a removal of all things DEI, woke, and LGBTQ+ in the DoD, so they used a program to scour the websites and flag for removal certain images and pages that might go against the directive. One of the keywords they looked for was "Gay," for obvious reasons.

Because of what looks like a simple keyword search, we get the media freaking out about Trump erasing history or some such nonsense.

Yes, the military is going to REMOVE photos of the Enola Gay. The bomber that dropped the first bomb on Japan. Because that is totally the intention of the Defense Department's rule.

[I'm being insanely sarcastic if you didn't catch it]

Here's Newsweek:

The executive order mandating the removal of DEI-related content required all military branches to review years of archived material, including website postings, photos, news articles and videos.

If the materials could not be reviewed by the deadline, they were to be 'temporarily removed from public display' until further assessment.

So they're taking down photos of the Enola Gay ... until someone could physically review the tens of thousands of photos by hand.
