We know this is ridiculous, but here's the thing most people don't understand:
Our ruling elite think this is ridiculous too.
Indeed, there are the woke acolytes like AOC who spew verbal word salads to appeal to the faithful. A transgender admiral here, a black lesbian press secretary there, and you've satisfied the Feelings™ crowd that wants the revolution to be snuggly and "inclusive."
But those in power - those who have true power - don't care about gender ideology or blacks in America or the suffering of the immigrant. Those are means to an end, and the end is total control.
The vast bureaucracy of the Total State wants to become God. Not a lowercase "god," but God. THE God. It cannot dethrone God by simply proclaiming Him dead.
It must destroy His created order by inverting it, what we call Clown World around these parts.
The Christian proclamation that built the West is that God created men and women in His image to rule over the birds of the air and the fish of the sea. This man and woman would cleave to each other in a holy bond where they become one body for the purpose of multiplying across the earth in order to cultivate God's created order and glorify His name by creating, building, laughing, loving, governing, and fighting for what is good.
Everything you label "woke" has turned that concept on its head.
There are no men and women. We are widgets - Lego people who can exchange our parts.
We are not beings made in the image of God, but animals reduced to an assortment of skin color, genitals, and other parts.
Sexuality is animalistic and has no divine sacredness, BUT it is also so sacred that it must be celebrated with great parades and rainbow flags above our most hallowed institutions and buildings.
The only sexuality that is celebrated is that which doesn't lead to children.
Humans are not special and are actually hurting the world. We must "depopulate" the earth through "degrowth."
Though "man" and "woman" are archaic terms, when used, women must become men.
The only way for our elites to make a world of their own design, where they are gods and the Total State is God Almighty, is to remove the God who is already on the throne.
The Total State is here, and it isn't woke. It merely uses woke like a virus to hollow out what we call sacred and wear it like a skinsuit. This is why the pawns for Hamas and the pawns for gay sex are allied toward a common purpose, even though they could never coexist outside this moment in the revolution.
One day, when it has rotted enough of what substance remains in our society, it will cast woke aside.
So what to do about it?
As I'm prone to do, I'll invoke a poem from Lord of the Rings.
All that is gold does not glitter,
Not all those who wander are lost;
The old that is strong does not wither,
Deep roots are not reached by the frost.
From the ashes a fire shall be woken,
A light from the shadows shall spring;
Renewed shall be blade that was broken,
The crownless again shall be king.
This poem was written as a work of fiction, but its embedded itself in our cultural consciousness for a reason.
Tolkien wasn't just writing about the line if Isildur and Aragorn, son of Arathorn.
He was writing about the West.
To that end, this poem provides us a template for our response to the Total State.
Unlike the glitter of Pride parades and climate conferences in the Alps, we have gold of family and faith and tradition that has been refined over thousands of years of human history.
Unlike the lost souls who search for identity in gender, sex, or "justice" activism, we may wander across the whole earth, even being hauled before judges or removed from our jobs/homes, yet know exactly where we are.
Unlike the gender/skin color branch of Marxism that was invented five minutes ago, we stand in a long, unbroken line of ancient wisdom and we testify to hundreds of generations that have come before.
They might hack and burn and freeze everything around us that is good on God's green earth, but there are roots that go far deeper than their power is capable of reaching.
And one day, if you can believe it, from the ashes and shadows there will come fire and light. Shattered swords and scattered crowns will be restored.
That is the message of the Christian Gospel, playing out right now across the world in a variety of forms.
If you are a hardworking parent who goes to church and loves your neighbor, you do not understand the kind of power you have. The Total State has bent all its energy toward destroying little old you. You might be struggling to fix your 2003 minivan and you might be worried that a trip to Waffle House with the family might break your budget, but you have more power than you realize, for God has chosen the have-nots of the world to shame the powerful.
What you must do now - what so many of us have forgotten when we added "Thou Shalt Be Nice" to the 10 Commandments - is to project that God-given power to disciple all nations.
They are already trying to jail you for praying outside abortion clinics and riding scooters over crosswalks: The time has long passed to make your voice heard.
Join a local board. Pester your representatives to flex the muscle they were hired to flex. Speak out at work. Encourage your pastor to be bold. Lovingly explain to your neighbors why the groomers are going to jail (then send the groomers to jail). Raise up the flags (extremist Pine Tree flags included). Stay the course. Keep the faith. Make earth like heaven.
