The great state of Minnesota, everyone:
Are you a Somali-American living in Minnesota and also participating and possibly already charged and convicted of millions of dollars in Medicaid fraud?
Well, just call Judge Sarah West and she'll let you off the hook.
This is a real story:
As you heard above:
Yusuf and his wife Lul Ahmed were charged with stealing $7.2 million of taxpayer money through Medicaid overbilling in a personal care assistant (PCA) scam.

Despite the jury swiftly convicting Yusuf, Judge Sarah West last week decided that they got it wrong, overturning the verdict and issuing a judgment of acquittal.
What's more, they ran this home healthcare company out of a mailbox on Central Avenue in Minneapolis, "where multiple other home healthcare companies were supposedly located."
As far as the case itself goes, jury foreperson Ben Walfoort is quoted as saying "It was not a difficult decision whatsoever ... Based off of the state's evidence that was presented, it was beyond a reasonable doubt."
Seems a bit ridiculous, but I'll at least give Sarah this, even though I don't want to:
Defense attorney Joe Tamburino, who is not affiliated with the case, reviewed the decision and analyzed it for KARE 11 News. He says Judge West ruled that the state's case 'relied heavily on circumstantial evidence,' and that she believed the state didn't rule out other 'reasonable inferences.'
'That in fact, there could have been other reasonable theories other than guilt in this case. That's what it comes down to,' Tamburino said.
Despite the ruling, even Judge West wrote that she is 'troubled by the manner in which fraud was able to be perpetuated at Promise Health.'
As a reminder, there are dozens of Somalis currently being tried for rampant fraud with Medicaid and Covid funds (we're talking hundreds of millions of dollars, minimum). Evidence shows American tax dollars have also been regularly funneled from Somali communities in Minnesota to Islamic terror groups back in Somalia.
I guess the Somalis can take out their taypayer-funded cell phones and give Judge West a call!
