Remember this?
It was truly a sight to behold!
After the article made Christianity Today's few remaining subscribers realize that the magazine is now watered-down heresy that appeals to boomer liberals, the author of the article - a senior editor at the magazine - publicly apologized.
I didn't think about John 20:25 and the implication of the idea that Thomas was mistaken to think the resurrected Jesus would have nail marks in his hands. Thomas clearly would not have said that if the Romans at that time used ropes.
My article implicitly called into question the inerrancy of Scripture. In my eagerness to explore the historical context of Christ's death, I missed that, and I'm sorry.
There were two themes in the replies to Daniel's post.
"How did a senior editor for the flagship magazine of Evangelicalism miss something that toddlers learn in Sunday School?"
"Who green-lit this piece?"
Regarding the latter, The Daily Wire's Megan Basham decided to drop a nuke on the editor-in-chief that's running the clown show at CT these days:
Russell Moore has come under intense scrutiny in recent years for his response to, well, everything. The man used to head the ERLC, the public policy arm of the Southern Baptism Convention, the largest church denomination in the United States. He is now the editor-in-chief of Christianity Today, which again, was founded by Billy Graham as the tip of the spear for evangelical ministry, missions, and biblical exegesis worldwide.
Then Trump and the pandemic happened, and, well, a photo is worth a thousand words.
Not only is Moore a man who likes to wear Lord of the Rings Covid masks inside his own car while showing off his vaccination card, but he also is launching Bible study curriculum with funding from godless Marx-adjacent entities that hate Christ and love killing babies.
Moore seems to view himself as "above" politics, and yet the "conservative Christian" leader never hesitates to take the side of anti-Christ liberals. He even went as far in the 2024 election to say it was totally fine to remove Trump's name from the ballot because we did the same to Confederates back in the day.
It's now to the point where Baptists are labeling Moore a wolf in sheep's clothing - a Trojan horse seeking to destroy Christian institutions from the inside by injecting them with the poisonous ideals of secular humanism and neo-Marxism. 👇
While Christianity Today has issued a correction on the article and the author has apologized, Moore has been strangely silent.
As the editor-in-chief of this humble outlet, I would never let such a grievous error go without personally taking responsibility.
So why won't Moore man up?
I'll leave you with a statement as you ponder that question, my brothers and sisters in Christ 👇
