No hate to Greg Kelly, but this is a great lesson in why you should never take anything on the internet at face value.
"WHAT IS GOING ON?!?"
Slow your roll there, Greg.
You're freaking out over a camera angle.
You may not have noticed Mr. Smooth Operator last July when Trump was shot, but I did. I immediately knew he was providing cover for the driver's side of the vehicle.
In fact, I remember how his calm, organized movements contrasted to the frantic nervousness of the female agents who were thoroughly mocked by the American public.
It's not rocket science. You're looking at a two-dimensional image capture of a three-dimensional event. Because of the camera's position relative to the vehicle and agents, it looks like he's pointing the gun at the vehicle's windshield when he's actually using the vehicle as cover to scan the security hole on the driver's side.
Here are two ridiculously simplistic top-down diagrams to illustrate. First, we have the beginning of the video where a human shield is moving Trump into the vehicle.
As soon as Trump is secured, the coordinated response continues. A member of Secret Service special operations facing the crowd breaks to his left and runs toward the front of the vehicle.
Two agents that had been covering Trump run around the back of the vehicle.
The soldier in camo aims over the dashboard to ensure there are no threats on the driver's side as the other agents get into position.
The only thing out of place here was Agent McCarthy struggling to holster her service weapon. Her panic stood out because the rest of the team was moving like clockwork.
Anyway, remember to practice critical thinking, lest your brain turns to mush. 👇
