Americans may soon have more reasons to procreate than just to experience the deep sense of fulfillment and wonder that comes from having a child — 5,000 more reasons, to be exact.
According to reports, the Trump administration is considering giving out $5,000 "baby bonuses" to improve the country's low birth rate.
From The Hill:
Trump was pressed by the media Tuesday afternoon about whether he was considering bonuses for moms whenever they have a child, following reports his administration heard a similar pitch that could mean up to $5,000 in extra cash for moms after giving birth.
'Sounds like a good idea to me,' Trump said briefly before jumping to another question.
While there may be reason to believe that the cash incentive could result in improved birth rates among U.S. families, one must consider whether or not the country would benefit from people having children as a money grab.
At the very least, a $5,000 per-birth "baby bonus" would be one surefire way to guarantee that Elon Musk remains the world's richest man.

That's a lot of baby bonuses.
