He was SO close to saying "What are we doing?" which, in ESPN world, would result in an immediate firing (or, if he's lucky, an embarrassing apology tour for offending the LGBTQ+ community).
It was actually a smooth move. I give SVP credit.
Van Pelt let his honest and true feelings slip through for just a second and truly spoke for everyone who was tuning into SportsCenter at that moment.
